Singer quits because of pregnancy
Singer Marjon will leave Nightlive because of her pregnancy. A third child is on its way and Marjon chose to be a full-time mother. It's understandable that you can't combine time-taking recordings and performances with a baby and two growing children. Nightlive supports her in her choice.
Drummer Martin, Marjon's boyfriend, is still considering if he can combine the band with raising three children.
Ben Nieuwenhuis wil take care of the drums until there's been a definite descision.
Further info about Martin's choice and Marjon's pregnancy will be on the site at a later time and the entire Nightlive-crew wishes the parents a happy and healthy coming period.
In the mean time Nightlive ofcourse doesn't stay put.
Marjon's part of the singing will be taken over by Karlijn Buwalda. This means a lot of readjustments for Nightlive, because all was practised for three voices. Because of the extra time that is needed to cover this, the planned performances for October and November are canceled.
Credits for Ben
We knew already that our mixer Ben Nieuwenhuis had a good hearing, but now it appears that he also has a set of rhythmic arms and legs. Nightlive is very happy with theat, especially in these circumstances. The Police- and Genesis-freak does give a whole different sound to Nightlive with his sharp snare-drum, but we concluded that it "fits like a glove". Keep on Rockin' Ben!

Sometimes it's hard to combine a bandlife with a relationship. Ups and downs, that's what life's all about. The challenge for us is to deal with that in the right way and climb back up when times have been down. This mostly happens unnoticeable, because all of us have our privacy. And if you don't notice, you will miss all those little miracles...
Webmaster goes Across Boundaries
Our own webmaster resets borders for the Nightlive-team. He moved with his girlfriend to Finland and he will continue his activities from this always "warm" little piece of paradise.

Nightlive warms up Visual Blind
Rumors went around already that this was about to happen, but now it's sure!
Nightlive starts Visual Blind's concert in the D.W.K.-building in Zutphen on 27th of September.
It starts at 21.00hrs, it opens at 20.30hrs and entrance fee is € 4.

Conversations with CD-producer
Adriaan is talking to a German CD-producer and hopes to get more info on that on short notice.

Another new member
Not a new face in Nightlive's surroundings, but as of now officially a "nightlive crewmember". Robert Doornink will take care of things up and around stage together with Ben Nieuwenhuis. Troubles will be shot as soon as they appear!

Nightlive has a new member. Her name is Karlijn Buwalda, she's 23 years young and most certainly a big plus for Nightlive. She will be singing the coming concerts.

Performance for the "Grote Prijs van NL"
Yesterday was the day: the performance in the preliminaries for the "Grote Prijs van NL". After a month of preparations, practising and being nervous the gents and lady were up on stage to show the professional jury their qualities. Everything went exactly according plans (except for the local people of the sound, because they were short on cables and refused to adjust their equipment's setup a bit; you really seem to have to do EVERYTHING yourself!) and the performance was absolutely grande! Did we think that Zutphen was good? Well, if the line of improvement keeps on going like it is now, we've got something coming!
Unfortunately there was one band — Morgana X — that was a tiny bit better (which had a lot to do with the carload of experience that these gentlemen brought along, since they had all been playing in wellknown bands before they started this one), so Nightlive had to be satisfied with a second place, which they were. Ofcourse this didn't do anything to the fun and the atmosphere during and around the performance and the party afterwards was celebrated as if they were winners!
Note that Erik got an extra compliment from the jury for his keyboardplaying! And he was flattered big time!

Cause of Adriaan's disease found
As said before, leadsinger Adriaan has been turned inside out in the white-coat's research centre and they found what's wrong with him!
To prevent screaming people and horrifying images I'll leave out all the details, but the good news is that it's curable.
Expectations are that Adriaan will be at full-strength again on short notice.

Leadsinger's illness goes to an end
Leadsinger Adriaan is turned inside out today, in answer to his neverending stomachproblems. In the hospital they dug their way in (literally and figuratively) to finally find what was bothering him. And they found it. And if all goes well Adriaan will be his good ol' self again within a few weeks.

Good news! Adriaan received a message from the organisation of the Grote Prijs van NL.
Nightlive plays on May 18th in the preliminaries of the regional final for the Grote Prijs.

Interested??
After downloading the e-mail, it appeared that the server saved some 8 e-mails (we don't know how many e-mails have been sent to this address the past period) en the reactions in those e-mails were without exceptions very positive. Because of that we decided that it might be a good idea to sell the demo CD in a small amount.
If visitors of this site are interested in buying a copy of the demo CD, we would like to know that. Drop us a line on the e-mailaddress. The price of the CD will be shown after we know if there are enough people interested in buying it.
The CD contains six songs: Ruby, Wild Goose, Satan's Angels, Wilderness of Streets, Loggerhead and Never Stop.

Webmaster's stupidity
Visitors recently wondered why the e-mails sent to the address on the site weren't answered. The question reached the webmaster, who excused himself (ashamed as he was) that the e-mail address hadn't been put on the server after the approval of the concept of the site.
This problem has been solved instantly and the e-mail address now is indeed functional, so visitors.... Mail ahead!

No reactions have been received yet to the demo CDs that are sent. There's still some hope that the people who received a demo will react one of these days, or maybe (idle hope?) even play a song on the radio. So if someone hears a Nightlive song fly by, let us know.

Developments in the musical area
As said previously the performance in Zutphen was a big success. The recordings that were made there were used to produce a CD which is going to be used as promotion material. Copies have been sent to Giel Beelen and Rob Stenders at Radio3FM. Also a request has been sent to Hemelpop to perform on stage there and leadsinger Adriaan has been in contact with people from "De Grote Prijs van NL" (zie ook www.groteprijs.nl). Awaiting a reaction.

Performance big success
Nightlive's performance in the D.W.K. building in Zutphen last Saturday was a big hit. Despite Adriaans weak health, and with the help of the other bandmembers, he could sing the major part of the numbers himself. The good, informal atmosphere and the enthusiastic crowd made it whole to a successful evening. "We want more!!"

The recordings that are made of the performance are checked, tested, edited and mixed as we speak for an upcoming Nightlive-live album. More on this topic later.

Illness...
Leadzanger Adriaan is currently dealing with a nasty stomachproblem, which limits him temporarily in his actions.
It's still not completely certain if he can sing himself during the concert of March 9th, but there's at least no doubt that the concert will take place as planned.
Meanwhile we wish Adriaan all the best.

Finally! Nightlive's first live on-stage performance in the new setup is scheduled for March 9th.
The performance will take place in the D.W.K. building in Zutphen en the recordings will be used to complete Nightlive's first CD.

Secret last practise
Last Saturday Nightlive secretly gave an on-stage practise performance without audience. Goal of this performance was to let the new band member Erik get used to playing on-stage. According to insiders the performance was a big hit and it will not take long anymore until the first live-performance in front of audience will take place.

Bad luck
Everyone probably noticed that Nightlive didn't succeed in releasing their first CD before christmas. There've been some unscheduled 'situations' at times of the recordings (from the direct neighborhood) and Nightlive had to stop recording on police request. As soon as this bullshitting from the neighborhood is solved the recordings will be continued and finished.
Check back for new developments on this.
